In 2004, Central Nebraska community leaders, working with Omaha’s Peter Kiewit Institute (PKI), formed Bring the Talent Back Home (Talent). The goal was to recruit high-achieving students from Nebraska’s colleges to live and work in our towns and cities, with special focus on central Nebraska high school graduates. PKI interns took summer jobs in area businesses that first year and in subsequent summers. This gave Talent the opportunity to showcase our communities as locations where the interns could play key roles in business whether as employees or as entrepreneurs.
Recognizing innovation and leadership to be key components to success in today’s knowledge-based, global economy, Bring the Talent Back Home is dedicated to communicating and networking with high school alumnae from across Nebraska. Talent creates a partnership between our communities, our businesses and our education system, working together to invite our grads to join as we build for the future.
Talent recognizes that all alums enter phases of life which give them different reasons for coming back to central Nebraska. The networking efforts of Bring the Talent Back Home are aimed at making all business, employment, leadership and quality of life opportunities known to our high school graduates.
