Canadian Company Chooses York - Monday, December 04, 2006

 

Agri-Direct, Inc. Chooses York

 

Advanced Agri-Direct, Inc. of Thorsby, Alberta Canada is expanding their operations to York.  The company is a manufacturer of concrete water bowls and a distributor of other livestock equipment.

 

“It is with a great deal of pleasure that we (my wife Janet and I) announce our expansion into York.” said Shaun Heldt, owner.  “We have spent a few years researching the possibility of relocating to the United States and in our opinion; York is the place for us!”

United Farmers Cooperative Selects York for New Corporate Facility

 

UFC President and CEO Tom Redman announced recently that the accounting, marketing, and management functions for the company would be consolidated in a new 20,000 sf office facility in the York Commerce Park.

 

Some of the considerations were the “availability of labor, housing, spousal career opportunities, adult education opportunities, community support, availability of meeting and training facilities, and costs of construction.  The Board of Directors believes that consolidating the offices in York will result in being the best long-term decision for UFC and the members as a whole,” said Redman.

 

Heartland Events Center Grand Opening - Grand Island, NE - Tuesday, November 14, 2006

 

The Heartland Events Center is Central Nebraska's newest venue for Events, Education and Entertainment. This centrally located 180,000 sq. ft. multipurpose facility is spacious, attractive, and conveniently located in Grand Island, Nebraska, just minutes off of Interstate 80 Exit 314 South Locust Street, and near Hwys. 30 and 281. The Heartland Events Center adjoins Fonner Park Thoroughbred Race Track and its growing complex of Island Oasis Water Park, and softball and soccer fields, which has served the citizens of Nebraska and visitors for over 50 years, and is situated near area hotels, restaurants, shopping, and other area attractions.

The Center's "Eihusen Arena" seats 6,000-7,500 and is equipped with a four-sided video scoreboard, as well as 12 suites, multiple concession stands and restroom facilities, six locker rooms, gift shop, ticket office, and more amenities, as well as offering in-house catering service for all facility events. The Heartland Events Center also features meeting and banquet facilities.

 

Aurora West Ag-Bio Mulitplex - Aurora, NE - Thursday, November 02, 2006

In April, 2006, principals from Aurora Cooperative Elevator Company announced the Aurora West ag-bio multiplex project, which will be constructed on a 135-acre site near Aurora.  The $300 million project will include a 220 million gallon ethanol plant, a grain handling facility to supply the new plant and Aurora’s existing ethanol plant, plus fertilizer storage sheds and a seed warehouse.  The multiplex will be built around a dual loop railroad system.  The project will create hundreds of temporary and permanent jobs in Hamilton County.

 

Microsoft Grant Awarded to Aurora Technology Center - Aurora, NE - Tuesday, October 31, 2006

In support of workforce development in rural Nebraska, Microsoft has awarded an Unlimited Potential grant or $414,000 in software and $50,000 in cash to the Aurora Technology Center (ATC) to expand its current IT training and educational programs.  ATC has added a full-time trainer and state-of-the-art computers to complement the new software.  Free and low-fee classes will be given to upgrade the technology of community residents and businesses.
